The Europe Now Movement (PES) condemned the "scandalous nationalist celebration" in Budva.
"The Europe Now! movement strongly condemns the scandalous nationalist celebration in which Petar Odžić, an official of the European Union and the Social Democratic Party, and Aleksandar Tičić on behalf of the DPS participated last night (Milan Tičić was present, ed. out). After being elected with a three-finger salute, Odžić was filmed celebrating with Nikola Jovanović for the chair to the Serbian nationalist songs of Baja Mali Knindža," the PES announced.
They expect Social Democrat MP and European Union official Boris Mugoša to "disassociate himself from this act."
"Given the declarative and pro-European orientation of the European Parliament and the tireless efforts of MP Mugoša to identify, make public and eradicate every form of nationalist activity, we expect him to distance himself from this act. If there is no reaction from the hitherto cosmopolitan Mugoša, we can expect that he, together with Odžić, content with his chair, will soon sing 'A Small Boat Sails the Sea', Odžić's and Tičić's favorite entertainer," the statement reads.
