At the upcoming Congress, we will also receive a new composition of the Main Board, and after that a new Presidency, and thus we will fully complete the personnel changes, said the President of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, at yesterday's forum in Kotor.

We will also adopt a new Program and thus respond to what we are currently witnessing - institutional disintegration that threatens to turn into anarchy, he added.

Živković pointed out that in the past four years they have done a lot to reform the party, and that cycle will be completed at the upcoming Congress.

"We conducted the first direct intra-party elections at all levels - from the party president and vice president to the presidents of municipal committees. We renewed our personnel offer at all levels with a well-balanced balance between experienced and young people," the DPS leader reminded.

He added that the task of DPS in the coming period is to change the way it operates.

"We must be more efficient and more adapted to the current political moment. We must react faster and change the methodology of work in election campaigns. This is what we will be dedicated to in the coming period in order to be fully adapted to the current political circumstances," said Živković.

DPS Secretary General Aleksandar Bogdanović commented on the proposed Program and said that it was not easy to come up with a program offer adequate to this moment.

"In the past 5 years, we have witnessed the ruination of all areas of social activity. The economy is in disarray, public finances are such that the amounts of increasingly frequent debts reach billions, the security sector has been completely dismantled, and all institutions have experienced serious setbacks. We have come out with a Program that aims to do two things: to repair the ongoing chaos and return things to their previous state on the one hand, and to enable development and progress on the other. That is why we have designed a 10-point Program that encompasses all areas and segments of life in Montenegro," he explained.

Andrija Nikolić, head of the parliamentary caucus, is convinced that the party and the Montenegrin public have justified their trust in the Parliament. He assessed that the work of the parliamentary caucus is one of the main reasons for the growth of the DPS's rating.

"We have shown determination in defending state interests and demonstrated the quality of the new generation of our party. Our work has been recognized by citizens, so the Democratic Party of Socialists ended the previous year with a percentage of 28 percent to 29 percent support, or a few percentage points more than a year earlier in the parliamentary elections. However, this still does not satisfy us. We must continue with the same approach and, in constant communication with citizens in every part of Montenegro, convince them of the correctness of our policy," he concluded.
