As the topic of the Free Zone of the Port of Bar has become more topical these days and who worked on taking measures to prevent the storage of tobacco after three decades, which was the starting point for cigarette smuggling, we are once again hearing disinformation from officials in the Government of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, the Civic Movement URA announced today.
"Thus, one of the seven Deputy Prime Ministers, Momo Koprivica, who himself does not know his responsibilities, has been emphasizing in recent days that in the 42nd Government, the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare dealt with this issue, although such untruths can be easily denied. Although the Free Zone of the Port of Bar and the issue of customs were within the competence of that Ministry, coordination regarding the decision to ban tobacco storage, as well as the proposal for a decision that originated from the Cabinet of the then Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, were adopted on the basis of that proposal," ERO points out.

Koprivica said yesterday, among other things, that the Government's decision to ban the storage of tobacco in the free zone was made in 2021, and that it was an important move taken at the proposal of the Ministry of Finance from the 42nd Government.
The ERO, headed by Abazović, added that the participation of the then Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare was limited to submitting an analysis, where they themselves noted that the Cabinet of Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović had communicated with international partners in order to identify disputed contracts and find ways to prevent further storage of tobacco.
"We welcome the Government's efforts to continue working to combat cigarette smuggling, but not to try, in the absence of its own results, in its familiar manner, to take credit for others and deceive the public," ERO said.
