Montenegro is committed to European and Euro-Atlantic values, as well as to preserving a world order based on rules and dialogue, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimović.
Ibrahimović is in Munich, where he is participating in the 61st Munich Security Conference, which represents one of the most important international forums for exchanging views on global security issues and challenges.
As announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the conference brought together more than 700 participants, including heads of state, ministers, representatives of international organizations, academia, civil society, and business.
The government department said that the focus of the discussions will be on current global security challenges, regional conflicts, and the future of the transatlantic partnership.
They said that, in addition to participating in numerous panel discussions on security, multilateralism, and hybrid threats, Ibrahimović also had a number of bilateral meetings with officials from other countries and international organizations.
"During discussions and talks, he emphasized Montenegro's commitment to European and Euro-Atlantic values, as well as to preserving a world order based on rules and dialogue," the statement said.
He pointed out the importance of strengthening stability in the Western Balkans, assessing that a European future is the safest path to building lasting security and further prosperity in the region.
On the first day of his participation in the conference, Ibrahimović met with the US Security Coordinator for Palestine and Israel, Michael Fenzel.

The interlocutors, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, exchanged opinions on the situation in the Middle East and pointed out the importance of synchronizing the efforts of the international community in order to achieve a lasting and sustainable solution.
Ibrahimović pointed out that Montenegro welcomed the ceasefire in Gaza and the release of the hostages.
He stated that he hopes that the ceasefire will enable the beginning of the reconstruction of Gaza and long-term reconciliation, and reiterated Montenegro's commitment to a two-state solution to the conflict, based on United Nations resolutions.
"In a conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo, Donika Gervala Schwarz, the importance of continuously improving relations between Montenegro and Kosovo, based on the principles of mutual trust, good neighborliness and a common European and Euro-Atlantic perspective, was emphasized," the statement said.

Ibrahimović said that Montenegro would continue to support Kosovo's foreign policy aspirations and recalled the importance of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
"The interlocutors agreed that there is a mutual interest in strengthening economic cooperation, including infrastructure projects, which would contribute to better connectivity," the statement said.
As stated, the program of the Munich Security Conference continues today, the central topic of this year's discussions is multipolarization, and during the second day there will be more talk about regional conflicts and crises, the role of the European Union (EU) and support for Ukraine, transatlantic security and cooperation between the EU, NATO and the US, as well as the economic dimension of security.
