We are ready to immediately withdraw the appeal to the Constitutional Court. For this to happen, all that is needed is for the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) Kotor to do what was ordered by the State Election Commission (SEC) and the current political deadlock in Kotor will be resolved in less than 24 hours, the Municipal Board (OB) of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Kotor announced.
They said they are using the opportunity to address the public regarding today's allegations by Democratic MPs in the Parliament of Montenegro, and regarding the current political situation in that city.
"Since the Democrats at the state level are clearly ignorant, we will just briefly explain to them that it was their local officials who caused the entire situation in Kotor. Because neither did the DPS influence the MEC to change its own decision to repeat the elections at the Prčanj and Mirac polling stations, nor are we encouraging them to persistently ignore the SEC's conclusion," the statement reads.
They stated that from the end of September until today they have been insisting exclusively on respecting the law.
"And therefore we oppose the anarchy of those who suffered defeat in the elections. Moreover, our fellow citizen who is speaking out in front of the local trade union organization these days is a member of the OIK, so there is no doubt that he is the one who knows the fastest way to get out of this situation," said the Kotor DPS.
