The Preokret Movement announced that it is requesting that the Capital City of Podgorica allocate an additional 850.000 euros for subsidies to tenants.
"Recognizing the initiative of the Tenants' Association, Preokret proposed that the item 'Support to Tenants' should be increased from 150.000,00 euros to one million euros," the statement said.
They add that this amendment was proposed at the initiative of the Tenants' Association, with which they fully agree and stand in solidarity.
"According to their estimates, there are over 15.000 sub-tenant households living in the Capital City, and housing costs are continuously rising, which further complicates their financial situation," the statement said.
As stated in the statement, by increasing budget funds to one million euros, the number of supported families would increase to more than 800, which would enable more significant and fairer support for tenants, as one of the most vulnerable social categories in Podgorica.
"This amendment aims to ensure a fairer distribution of funds and align the budget with the real needs of citizens," said the Preokret Movement.
