Nemanja Vuković, the president of the Municipal Assembly (MA) in that city, has been elected as the new president of the Municipal Committee of the Democrats in Nikšić. At today's session, the Municipal Committee of the Democrats voted by a majority vote of no confidence in the current president of the party's Committee, Marko Mitrović, and elected Vuković in his place.
The Democrats unofficially told "Vijesti" that they have not yet definitively decided whether they will run independently or as part of a broader coalition, nor who could be their leader.
Recently, the president of the Nikšić branch of the Democrats, Marko Mitrović, told "Vijesti" that the speaker of the Nikšić parliament, Nemanja Vuković, will most likely be the candidate if the party decides to run independently.
The current government in Nikšić consists of a coalition led by New Serbian Democracy, the Democrats and GP URA.
Local elections in Nikšić are scheduled for April 13th.
