The visit of former Democratic Front (DF) leaders Andrija Mandić and Milan Knežević to convicted Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik is a new slap in the face to Montenegro's European integration, but also to Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) announced.
They said that earlier this week, Dodik was sentenced to one year in prison and a six-month (author's year) ban from engaging in politics for disrespecting the decisions of High Representative Christian Schmidt, thereby essentially working to break the Dayton Agreement and undermine peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"The support for such a policy, expressed today by Mandić and Knežević, is unequivocally directed against the European future of the region and has once again shown that the priority for the aforementioned duo, who are today the essential heads of the parliamentary majority, is the integration of Montenegro into the 'Serbian world' and not into the family of European nations," the statement reads.
DPS points out that this is also a slap in the face to Milojko Spajic.
"...To whom Mandić and Knežević make it clear that they are the ones who make the decisions and who essentially outline the policy of this Government. Therefore, it is not surprising that the party of the delegitimized Prime Minister has recorded a drastic drop in support and has a rating of barely 10% at the state level," they said.
