Dušan Golović, leader of the GP URA list in the local elections in Nikšić

"It is time for different policies and practices. It is time for different people, for changes, not for replacements - for honest, modest and hard-working individuals, who will be the essence of the change that Nikšić so badly needs and deserves," said Golović.

The President of the Municipal Board (MB) of the Civic Movement URA Nikšić, Dušan Golović, was unanimously elected last night at the MB meeting as the leader of their list in the upcoming local elections in Nikšić, which will be held on April 13, 2025, the party announced.

The Nikšić board of the GP URA emphasized that the consensual election of Golović as the leader of their list in the Nikšić elections is a confirmation of the trust he enjoys in the party membership, as someone who, as they say, truly lives and promotes civic and pro-European values. They are convinced that Golović will lead a list that will present a program and offer policies with quality solutions and concrete activities aimed at the general prosperity and well-being of the citizens of Nikšić, in a time, as they assess, of general dilettantism and daily political folklore.

According to a statement from GP URA, after being elected as the leader of the list, Golović thanked the members of the municipal board for their trust, emphasizing that being elected as a candidate for mayor of Nikšić is the greatest honor in his political career so far.

He said that Nikšić does not have time to wait, nor does it have the luxury of further political experimentation and improvisation similar to those at the state level.

"It is time for different policies and practices. It is time for different people, for changes, not for replacements - for honest, modest and hard-working individuals, who will be the essence of the change that Nikšić so desperately needs and deserves," said Golović.

The Nikšić board of the GP URA announced that the party will continue to build on the legacy left by the 43rd Government, led by Dritan Abazović, which, as they say, among other things - returned the symbol of the city, the Ironworks, to the ownership of the state of Montenegro, that is, the citizens of Nikšić; allocated funds for the rehabilitation of Nikšić's black spot, the Mislov do landfill; and provided funds for the construction of a new Fire Station, which, according to this party, is a relationship of the executive authority at the state level that Nikšić certainly does not remember in the recent past.

"With this data in mind, it is clear why the election on April 13th is never easier - only the Civic Movement URA is the force that can marginalize dilettantism, populism and nationalism, that will have a clear vision and solutions for a better city and a life worthy of its citizens, and that will actually implement the promises from the program, instead of propaganda. It is with this in mind that we call on our fellow citizens to join us during the campaign and to support us, because only in partnership with them can we turn the vision of a different, civic and modern Nikšić into reality," said the URA Civic Movement.

Dušan Golović was born in Nikšić in 1983. According to the biography submitted by his party, he graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the University of Montenegro (UCG), Department of Italian Language and Literature, and is currently studying for a master's degree at the Faculty of Economics of the UCG, Department of International Marketing. He has over fifteen years of work experience as a professor at the Podgorica gymnasium, as well as in private companies in consulting, shipping and international trade. He also held the position of President of the Board of Directors of "Monteput", doo, Podgorica. He is the grandson of the famous Nikšić and Montenegrin businessman, humanist and World War II veteran, president of the Montenegrin SUBNOR and anti-fascist, Boško Buba Golović. He is married and has two children.
