The civic movement URA announced that in the election campaign in Nikšić, it will focus on concrete ideas and solutions aimed at the well-being of the local community, reducing social polarization and encouraging dialogue.

The Nikšić board of that party decided to run in the April elections under the slogan "Different!".

"We believe that this slogan clearly illustrates the policy that the URA has inherited since its establishment, which we best demonstrated in practice, when we were at the head of the executive branch at the state level, during the work of the 43rd Government of Montenegro. The uncompromising fight against organized crime and corruption, the return to state ownership of the Kamenari-Lepetane ferry line, the Iron and Steel Works, the shares of the Port of Bar and the Electric Power Company, increased salaries, pensions and social benefits without almost a cent of debt, the best economic results in the history of the state, marginalized populist and nationalist trends, strengthened civic and European values - among numerous other achievements - are the legacy of the 43rd executive branch, which makes it very different from the sets that ruled Montenegro for decades, turning it into a haven of nationalism, organized crime and endemic corruption, with a standard of living unworthy of a human being," the Nikšić-based URA announced.

They say that the attitude of the Dritan Abazović government towards Nikšić was also different. They recall that, among other things, "the symbol of the city, the Ironworks, was returned to the ownership of the state of Montenegro, that is, the citizens of Nikšić", that 400.000 euros were allocated for the rehabilitation of "the ecological black spot of Nikšić, the Mislov do landfill", and that funds were provided for the construction of a new Fire Station, Radio-Television Nikšić and the western stands of the Sutjeska stadium.

"The slogan 'Different!' also illustrates the manner of the campaign that the Civic Movement URA will lead in Nikšić - positive and decent, which, instead of cheap propaganda aimed at political competition, will focus on concrete ideas and solutions aimed at the benefit of the local community, reducing social polarization and encouraging dialogue, thereby once again contributing to the democratic maturation of Montenegro and Nikšić. And that is why we are different," the statement reads.

They also said that they are different because they "will not enter into pre-election calculations for the sake of political profit", but will instead act independently, with an "honest political offer", because they do not want the interests of the citizens of Nikšić to be subordinated to "the calculation of the number of seats". They added that they will offer "a superior program that will clearly target and address the most important needs" of the local population, "and in partnership with the citizens of Nikšić".

"Finally, our slogan sends the key message, which is that, in the abundance of nationalism, populism and dilettantism, we will provide different people - honest, modest and hardworking individuals, with clean biographies and civic orientation, who live and breathe for a better and more modern Nikšić, regardless of someone's ethnic, religious or any other affiliation. People who are ready to work honestly and transparently, contrary to the political decorum we have on the socio-political scene today. And we are not stopping here with rhetoric - on the contrary - we are legitimizing it in practice, through the election of an exemplary Nikšić resident, Dušan Golović, as the leader of our list, who will be followed by equally honorable, good and professional people," the Nikšić URA announced.
