It seems strange that the head of parliament, Andrija Mandić, did not call for the establishment of a compulsory administration in Kotor at the same time. Or – as he suggests in the case of Šavnik – for the completion of the electoral process, the Municipal Committee (MC) of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Kotor announced.
"The fact that Andrija Mandić has become the supreme leader of the process within the government, the interpreter of all situations - from key legal dilemmas to issues pertaining to culture, is not our problem. It is the problem of all those from the parliamentary majority who have granted him the status of guru," the statement reads.
They said that when Mandić puts forward ideas about introducing compulsory administration in Šavnik - "then it goes beyond the framework of the oppressed majority, which usually remains silent about everything that comes to mind."
"And perhaps behind it all is Mandić's attempt to discipline the losing Kotor team. Because, it is difficult for anyone more knowledgeable about local affairs, after Mandić's performance, not to think that he wanted to send a message to those in Kotor 'via Šavnik'," the statement states.
"Even when you consider how their mutual cooperation is flourishing in our city – which, unfortunately, the citizens of Kotor felt through no fault of their own in the last term – then things are pretty clear," it added.
"We are not interested in the servile attitude of those from the state majority towards Mandić and his coalition. But - Kotor did not deserve this - neither for Mandić to use him for his own showdowns and demonstration of a firm hand, nor for him to be ruled by those he wants to discipline," said the DPS.
Mandić appealed to the authorities to introduce compulsory administration in Šavnik or to enable voting at two polling stations.
Yesterday, at the session of the first regular spring session of parliament, which was not attended by the opposition, he said that the citizens of Šavnik have been protesting for 20 days because the government in that municipality is not functioning in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of the state.
"I appeal to the authorities to introduce compulsory administration in that city, or to enable the conduct of elections at the remaining two polling stations in that municipality. No one needs the blockade of the Nikšić - Žabljak main road," said Mandić.
