The civic movement URA has submitted a list for the local elections in Nikšić to be held on April 13, 2025, under the name "URA - DIFFERENT - Dušan Golović.

The leader of the list, Dušan Golović, as announced by URA, said that their list is inclusive and that it consists of about 20 percent non-partisan figures, and that he is also proud that 40 percent of the list is made up of women.

"We are performing under the slogan "Different", which unequivocally states that we are oriented towards different policies than those offered by our political competitors. We will do everything to distance ourselves from the policies of populism, partitocracy and nationalism, and we are here to compete for good," said Golović.

Golović finally wished the citizens of Nikšić, as well as political competitors, a fair and correct electoral competition and that the electoral process would pass in a peaceful and democratic tone.

The President of the Civic Movement URA, Dritan Abazović, said that he was immensely proud that the leader of their list was Dušan Golović, the grandson of the famous Buba Golović, whom all Nikšić residents know very well, and that he was a man who returned to Nikšić after completing his education to help his city.

"I would like to point out that, while I was in the Government of Montenegro, some significant, perhaps even historic initiatives were launched for this city. The Ironworks was purchased and returned to state ownership, for the first time in 30 years a factory was opened - the 'Beluga' vodka factory, the construction of the Fire Station was also launched in cooperation with the Municipality, and intensive work was also done on improving the infrastructure. When it comes to the arrival of the large BIG shopping center, that was also an agreement with the previous government. Indeed, in the last year and a half of the new government, I have not seen any major projects implemented. We just want to continue to help Nikšić together, but we believe that things should be done differently," said Abazović.

Abazović emphasizes that their message is that Nikšić can do things differently, that it can do things better, better, and that in the future we can see Nikšić as a locomotive for the development of the Montenegrin economy.

"Nikšić needs to restore its urban tradition. I think that several scandals that marked the previous period of local government may have spoiled the good impression that citizens, but also people from other cities, had about Nikšić. I believe that we need to change such things. This list and these people represent something new - a new offer. The people of Nikšić will probably choose between those who have been in power so far and those who used to be in power, and it seems to me that in the past 30 years they have done everything to make the city regress and its economy completely dilute, or disappear. This is the only option in these elections that offers something new and different. We are not on either side, but we represent a new value that both Nikšić and Montenegro need," added Abazović.

He said that he is certain that Dušan Golović and his team will make an immense contribution to changing Nikšić for the better in the next four years.

Candidate for councilor Ana Zorić said that the program of their list is realistic and achievable, and that their list includes people of different profiles who are ready to achieve it, and that she believes that this is exactly what the citizens of Nikšić will recognize.
