Statements by the President and MPs of the ruling Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević they have no factual basis.
This was told to "Vijesti" by the German Ambassador to Montenegro yesterday. Peter Felten, commenting on Knežević's claims - that he (Felten) "is convincing a part of the ruling majority MPs to go with the reformed DPS (Democratic Party of Socialists).
"The statements have no factual basis," Felten said.
When asked whether he had spoken with the ruling majority MPs and the Prime Minister regarding cooperation with DPS, Milojko Spajić, Felten replied - no.
On Thursday, at the Parliament session, Knežević said that he was aware that the German ambassador and his deputy were "individually questioning certain MPs of the ruling majority and convincing them that it is better to go with the reformed DPS, headed by Milo Djukanovic, and to renounce the services of the officials who are currently leading the Government''.
He asked "on what basis does Felten form and dissolve the parliamentary majority and destroy the strongest party from the majority in terms of the number of deputies, when a government has not yet been formed in Germany?"
"Imagine if our ambassador in Germany were to call the election winners and say that the government should be formed in one way or another. If that happened, our ambassador would immediately be taken to the first psychiatric hospital, and then locked up in some insane asylum and would never see the light of day again. However, when Herr Felten does this, these are the greatest achievements of democracy and European standards and have been applied exclusively in Montenegro and to a certain extent in other Balkan countries," said Knežević.
He added that the ambassador certainly would not call him "although they could talk", and that he, as deputy chairman of the inquiry committee investigating political murders, would invite him to "see with whom he wants to send certain MPs into the arms of the DPS".
"To see those who killed Pavle Bulatović, Duško Jovanović, Slavoljub Šćekić, Beli Raspopović, Goran Žugić, Magda Klikovac"...those who formed the 'Kavački' and 'Škaljarski' clans. And then let's ask him what it would be like if this government in Germany was composed of people who participated in political executions. And let's see if the same applies to Montenegro as to Germany," he said.
