The Europe Now Movement (PES) councilors' club in Podgorica has told the "well-intentioned" and somewhat forgetful head of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) councilors' club, Andrija Klikovac, not to mix the Podgorica market with the Independence Day celebration.
Klikovac previously said that the local government is bringing "representatives of Guča" to perform on Independence Day, alluding to the fact that Dejan Petrović & Big Band will have a concert on May 21st at the Podgorica Market.
"The Bazaar program and the participants in it are one thing, and the Independence Day celebration program is something completely different," he was told by the PES Councilors' Club.
They reminded that the participants of the entertainment program of the Bazaar were scheduled for the New Year's Bazaar, but their performance was not possible due to the tragedy that befell our Cetinje.
"In order not to end up in a situation where we have to pay a fine for unfulfilled contracts and thus damage the budget of the Capital City, we have agreed with the contractors to hire them at the first upcoming market. We know, Mr. Klikovac, that a rational attitude towards the budget is your biggest mystery and we understand that you do not understand that someone can take care of citizens' money.
"We would just like to draw your attention to the fact that the same band opened the 'Summer with Stars' event in Bar, where your party is in power, in early July 2023. It is truly strange that you did not react then," the statement said.
PES councilors also said that they knew that Klikovac did not present his own position, but rather the position of his party bosses.
"Ask them if they would call on you to react if, by any chance, instead of the aforementioned band, we had hired the pop artist Jasna Milenković Jami, who is very responsible for our independence?" they asked Klikovac from PES.
