Croatian President Zoran Milanović will pay an official visit to Montenegro from March 26 to 28, at the invitation of Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović, the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro announced today.
The statement added that Milanović will be welcomed by Milatović at Villa Gorica, with the highest state and military honors, after which the two presidents will hold a conversation.
"After signing the guest book and the meeting of the two delegations, the heads of state will make public statements. Immediately after the press conference, the President of Montenegro and the President of the Republic of Croatia will plant a friendship tree in the courtyard of Villa Gorica. At the end of the day, President Milatović will host a gala dinner in honor of the President of Croatia," the statement reads.
It is stated that on the second day of the visit, the two presidents will hold a meeting with the Croatian-Montenegrin Business Club, after which they will lay a wreath at the Monument to the Partisan Fighter on Gorica Hill.
"Also, President Milatović and President Milanović will hold a lecture for students at the Faculty of Political Sciences (UCG) on the topic 'European Union Enlargement as a Geopolitical Imperative'," the statement said.
The Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro said that Milanović's official visit to Montenegro is an opportunity to strengthen interstate relations in the spirit of friendship, mutual respect, cooperation and good neighborliness.
"Also, the upcoming visit is a continuation of President Milatović's strong diplomatic activities, bearing in mind that Croatia, as an EU member state, represents an important partner in our country's efforts to become a full member of the EU by 2028," said the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro.
