The president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, said that voters from other countries "will not decide the fate of Nikšić and Montenegro."
"We are telling them not to come to Nikšić because they will receive a firm response from Nikšić. We know that Belgrade is seriously preparing for these elections and that they are ready to use their entire repertoire to defend the government in Nikšić. We are telling them not to do so because they will receive the response they deserve. We will not allow vote buying or pressure on employees. In particular, we will not allow voters from neighboring countries and weekend tourists who are imported from abroad to decide the fate of our children to decide. Let them not play, but let them stay home on April 13th and let them not go on a trip," said Živković at the promotion at the Nikšić Theater.
He added that he understands the anger of the citizens of Nikšić over everything that has happened in the past four years and that the elections on April 13th are "a chance to end the agony."
"With that anger of yours, enter the voting booth and surround the Democratic Party of Socialists. That will be our response to the middle finger to the national anthem, to the relativization of anti-fascism, to the ruining of the monument to Ljubo Čupić, to the complete halt of development and to the submission of reports to other countries. We will give them that answer on April 13th and it will never be stronger," said Živković.
The leader of the "Fight for Nikšić" list, Boris Muratović, said that citizens must not fall for subterfuge and manipulation aimed at transferring a number of voters, through supposedly civic parties, to the ranks of the former Democratic Front:
"Remember, every vote for the Europe Movement is now a vote directly for Marko Kovačević. Therefore, be careful who you trust, the upcoming elections are fateful not only for Nikšić but also for Montenegro. Therefore, we must win, and do so convincingly. Our victory must be so convincing and strong that we set off a wave throughout Montenegro that can no longer be stopped," said Muratović.
That is why, he added, the DPS went on the offensive:
"We have embarked on a knowledge offensive, a cultural offensive, a decency offensive, a development and investment offensive. We have embarked on an offensive to truly free both Nikšić and Montenegro from the darkness that has befallen us over the past 5 years," he said.
