Vučelić: Knežević managed to position himself as the regime's first čaci

The leader of the Democratic People's Party (DNP), Milan Knežević, has managed to position himself as the regime's first cadre through speeches at rallies and appearances on obscure television channels in Serbia, announced MP Maja Vučelić.

She stated that the DNP represents the politics of the past, of causing national divisions and instability in society, and that in recent months this type of activity has been extended to Serbia.

"Which is an admirable achievement, considering the strength of the competition for this prestigious title. This media darling of the autocratic government in Belgrade, which uses means of coercion and repression against peaceful citizens, does not shy away from frequent emotional manipulation of Serbian victims for political purposes," Vučelić stated in a post on Iks.

She said that the weight of Knežević's words is best evidenced by his statement from March last year, when, according to Vučelić, he swore, no less than by God and Saint Basil of Ostrog, that he would not allow the Bosniak Party (BS) to enter the government.

"However, the smell of power was apparently so intoxicating that it caused amnesia in MP Knežević, so these high-profile announcements were quickly forgotten as soon as the topics of the distribution of functions and the government pie came on the agenda. Contrary to Knežević, the goal of my political activity is entry into the EU and acceptance of European values ​​of democracy, equality before the law, free movement of people and capital, and social justice," Vučelić pointed out.

"In short, a policy of a prosperous future, not the dark 90s to which Knežević is aggressively trying to return us. I also strongly advocate for the economic recovery of the country through investments that will be implemented according to high standards of sustainable development. Finally, I also support the millions of Serbian citizens led by students who have been heroically fighting for a society without corruption that takes lives in recent months," she added.

Vučelić said that "I welcome Knežević's announcement of an imminent lawsuit, along with the accompanying photo and video documentation."

"PS I suggest to Milan Knežević that, before filing a lawsuit against me, he use his courage and authority to contribute to the lifting of Marko Kovačević's immunity, in order to finally enable state institutions to continue doing their job," she concluded.

DNP spokesperson Jovana Todorović announced earlier today that Knežević would file a lawsuit against Vučelić after her publicly stated views that Knežević "has a financier and principal from another country."
