Director of JP Morsko dobro and Vice President of the Executive Board of the New Serbian Democracy, Mladen Mikijelj, visited the works on the Pet Danica promenade from the Plaže Hotel to Meljina with Ivan Otović, the leader of the coalition list "For the Future of Herceg Novi and Boka".
Mikijelj, the coalition announced, expressed satisfaction with the project's implementation so far and emphasized the importance of the investment for Herceg Novi. He announced continued investment in similar projects along the Montenegrin coast, with the aim of further improving the tourist offer and infrastructure.
"Four years ago, we were in this same place and made a firm promise to reconstruct the Pet Danica promenade. Today, we are walking along a landscaped promenade to the pride of all of us. Many citizens of Montenegro and Boka Bay did not believe that we would be able to reconstruct part of the promenade in a short period of time, return the ferry line to state ownership, deal with the Ban brothers and return the beaches captured by Vektra Boka. Today, we are telling citizens that we will not stop there, but continue with projects and investments in Herceg Novi. We believe in even better cooperation between the local administration and JP Morsko dobro, when Otović is at the head of the municipality. I can announce that we will start the project to renovate the Zmijice-Kamenari promenade from September, and I promise that we will connect the promenade from Igalo to Kamenari in the next four years," said Mikijelj.
The statement states that the reconstruction of the Pet Danica promenade includes the installation of a new sewage and stormwater network, paving the path, installing new lighting, repairing the parapet, installing benches, and planting green areas.
Otović said that Herceg Novi received a well-maintained and modern promenade.
"We have returned the ferry and public swimming pools. This cooperation is proof that local government and state-owned enterprises can and must cooperate - we cannot do one without the other. We are committed to raising cooperation to a higher level and continuing to invest in Herceg Novi to the joy of citizens and visitors," said Otović.
