The head of the Bosniak Party (BS) parliamentary group, Amer Smailović, said that the Civic Movement URA is "the last party" that has the right to speak about the credibility of Montenegro.
He also said that in 2020, the URA stopped Montenegro's pro-European course and "openly worked against its interests."
Smailović reacted to the allegations of the Secretary General of the URA, Mileta Radovanić, who said that Montenegro, more precisely Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Minister of Foreign Affairs and leader of the Bosniak Party Ervin Ibrahimović, are working against the interests of Montenegro.
"Mileta Radovanić and URA are the last ones who have the right to talk about Montenegro's credibility, because it was they who stopped its pro-European course in 2020 and openly worked against its interests," Smailović wrote on his Facebook profile.
He believes that it was the URA officials, while in power, who "collapsed institutions, bowed to the interests of third parties", and in that sense enabled Montenegro to become a "playground" for those who never wanted it as an independent state.
To allegations that Ibrahimović has damaged Montenegro's reputation, Smailović responded:
"As for Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimović, he always puts Montenegro's interests first. Unlike you, Mr. Radovanic, and your party comrades, Ibrahimović has shown statesmanlike seriousness and commitment to strengthening our position in the region and the world. The fact that you cannot come to terms with the fact that the Bosniak Party leads key departments in the Government only shows your frustration and complex about having become an irrelevant political party," said Smailović.
