President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović will be in Sofia tomorrow, where he will participate in the leaders' meeting within the framework of the Aqaba Process.

The President's Office announced that Milatović will participate in the meeting at the invitation of his Bulgarian counterpart Rumen Radev and King Abdullah II of Jordan.

"The meeting in Sofia, co-chaired by Bulgaria and Jordan, brings together heads of state and government and representatives of international organizations, the non-governmental sector and security institutions to discuss the security environment, challenges and cooperation, with a particular focus on the Balkan region," the statement said.

Milatović will, as announced by his cabinet, also have a bilateral meeting with Abdullah II, with whom he will discuss strengthening cooperation between Montenegro and Jordan, as well as current regional and global security issues.

"The Aqaba Process, launched in 2015 at the initiative of Abdullah II, represents a significant platform for contributing to the joint efforts of the international community in the fight against terrorism and extremism," the statement said.

It is added that the meeting in Sofia is a continuation of previous regional meetings of the Aqaba Process dedicated to the Balkans, held in 2016 in Aqaba and in 2018 in Tirana.
