We already belong to Europe geographically, but we want to be part of it in essence. 80 percent of Montenegrin citizens support EU membership. The Parliament is working hard on this, together with the Government, which has the support of almost two-thirds of the deputies, said the Speaker of the Parliament, Andrija Mandić, during a meeting with the President of the National Assembly of France, Jaëlle Bron Pive.
Mandić, according to the statement, recalled that Montenegro has launched a strong fight against organized crime, and that key assistance in this fight came from France, whose security services discovered encrypted correspondence on the 'Sky' application.
"When you provided us with evidence, our Prosecutor's Office initiated many processes against members of criminal clans. The Law on the Confiscation of Property Acquired through Crime is also being prepared. We want to disable organized crime, and the best way to do that is by confiscating property," said Mandić.
Montenegro is on the right track, is the message from the President of the National Assembly of France.
"France and I personally provide great support on your European path. You can count on us!", said Bron Peavey.
She said in a statement that France is also planning to adopt a law against the drug mafia.
Mandić invited Bron Pew to visit Montenegro, to which she replied that she had seen the beauty of Montenegro in photographs and that she would be happy to accept the invitation.
