Kovačević: We continue with the development of Nikšić

Nikšić has experienced a revival in the past four years and the city's development will continue in the next four, said Marko Kovačević, the leader of the electoral list "For the Future of Nikšić", at a forum in Vraćenovići.

"The Mayor of the Municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, together with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Vladimir Joković, visited Banjane and Oputne Rudine to see first-hand the living conditions and priority needs of the locals. Kovačević was welcomed by a large number of people in their homes, who emphasized that, after more than 30 years of neglect by previous authorities, they had finally received support," the coalition announced.

They say that key infrastructure problems were discussed on that occasion, primarily roads and water supply.

"As far as the water supply is concerned, there were many problems. Some even thought it was impossible to develop the project. However, I insisted that it had to be done. We are now close to completing that project," said Kovačević.

After the tour, a panel discussion was held in Vraćenovići.

"Nikšić knows who raised it from the ashes in just four years and who created the preconditions for us to make it the great city it once was in Montenegro and the former SFRY in the next four years," said Kovačević on that occasion.

He also referred to political opponents, saying that voters on April 13th "have a clear choice between those who led Nikšić to ruin and those who led it on the path to recovery."

"We see that the head of the former regime, who officially leads the DPS in Nikšić, says that he is once again a resident of our municipality. But as such, he should not have stood at the head of the party, but appointed others who should lose for him. If he had been carrying the list, we would have defeated him convincingly on April 13," he claims.

Kovačević also spoke about the results of the previous government: "Our work was evaluated by yesterday's draw - we got the number 10, so a ten on the first exam, which was not easy at all."

He also said that "today 5.000 more Nikšić residents go to work than in 2021." "But we are not satisfied with that. We have brought 'Big Fashion' and 3.000 new jobs, but we are not stopping - we are talking to new investors so that all Nikšić residents can work."

He said that more than 200 kilometers of road routes have been reconstructed and adapted in the past four years. "That's not enough. There was one and a half million euros in the city treasury, and today we have about nine million. We continue even stronger."

Joković said that the Government will continue to support Nikšić and all its citizens.

"We know very well what those who ruled for 30 years left us - they sold off, destroyed and privatized everything. Their end has come, because they wanted to take away the most sacred thing from us - our sacred places," he said.

"This coalition in Nikšić was an example of harmony and unity. On April 13, we will receive your support to continue our work. Nikšić remains free, strong and proud," said Joković.
