The President of the Civic Movement (GP) URA, Dritan Abazović, called on all citizens who want to preserve Montenegro, its natural beauty and authenticity, and who oppose its sale, to come to a protest on Mala Plaža in Ulcinj on Saturday or to sign a petition for the preservation of Velika Plaža.
This was announced by the URA Border Guard.
"Today, the target is Velika Plaza, tomorrow it will be Crno Jezero, Plavsko Jezero, Lovćen, the Old Town in Kotor... If we don't show resistance now, we lose everything," Abazović said in his podcast "Friday with Dritan", emphasizing that we must oppose everything that is harmful to Montenegro and only beneficial to individuals.
The statement added that, speaking about the agreement relating to the transfer of Velika Plaza to an investor from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for almost 100 years, Abazović pointed out that the Government's intention is for the Parliament to adopt the agreement in the form of a law, which, as he said, is an attempt to conceal individual responsibility, but also harmfulness and possible corrupt actions.
"They want to hide behind the law by doing this. If someone raises the responsibility of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić tomorrow, he will appeal to the majority in parliament. I appeal to all MPs, especially from the ruling majority, to oppose the sale of Montenegro and the transformation of its citizens into foreigners in their own country - to vote against this agreement," Abazović said.
The URA Police Headquarters added that, commenting on the Prime Minister's announcement that the Government would only adopt the conclusions of the Ulcinj Municipal Assembly adopted on March 21, Abazović said that such a position was meaningless and humiliating for citizens.
"The Ulcinj Municipal Assembly adopted two sets of conclusions - on March 21 and a week later. One cannot be acceptable and the other not. The Ulcinj Municipal Assembly clearly rejected the project, pointed out corruption and lack of transparency, and requested that nothing be done on the territory of the municipality, especially not on Velika Plaza, without an expert opinion," said Abazović.
He called on ministers to publicly declare the agreement, and said that Deputy Prime Minister Niko Đeljošaj was acting hypocritically.
"If you agree that Velika Plaza is going to the drum - say so clearly. You cannot, on the one hand, support the local community and its conclusions, and on the other hand, sit with Spajić and promote this harmful project. Enough hypocrisy. Whoever supports this agreement is working against the interests of Montenegro," said Abazović, adding that "shame has a name and a surname."
Abazović announced the submission of the Declaration on the Protection of Velika Plaza to the Parliament, emphasizing that the URA Police Department possesses additional information that will compromise this government project.
Commenting on the work of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) after the arrival of the new leadership, Abazović expressed disappointment that the institution is no longer performing its basic function - the fight against corruption.
"Instead of dealing with a clear case of favoring an investor at the expense of the state, ASK, at the behest of the ruling parties, is pursuing persecution against me, my colleague Adžić and others. Spajić also announced during the prime minister's hour that something is being investigated. Let them investigate - I assume that's what they intend to do and I look forward to seeing how it ends," he said.
Abazović said that this is an action by certain party bots within ASK who aim to cause political damage ahead of the local elections on April 13th.
"I'm just waiting for them on Wednesday. You on Wednesday, me on Friday. So that citizens can see how things are being done at the behest of the Europe Now Movement and some other ruling parties," added Abazović.
He stated that instead of initiating a process for obvious corruption and the manipulation of the territory of Montenegro by one investor, they, out of fear of themselves and their shame, are trying to persecute other people.
"If you do the right thing, you will have my support. If you are beaten at the hands of the ruling parties, be sure that the fate of certain people awaits you for whom there is no longer a place in the institutions of the system. I am also in dispute with members of organized crime, I also have a dispute with the Ban over the ferry, and I will also be in dispute with ASK," he said, saying that it is not a long way from the perception of a fighter against corruption to a corrupt man.
