Agriculture must remain a strong pillar of the local economy and in the next term we will further improve institutional support for producers, announced the leader of the "We are all Nikšić" list, Nemanja Vuković.
The "We Are All Nikšić" list announced that Vuković made this statement during a tour of the farm of Nikšić farmer Milenko Nedić.
"Today we visited the farm of the hardworking host Milenko Nedić, a man who, through his work and the work of his family, has shown that one can make a living from agriculture in Nikšić. It is precisely such people who are proof that effort, dedication and honest work pay off," said Vuković.

He said that in the past four years, the local government in Nikšić has significantly improved support for agriculture, through the construction of road infrastructure to rural areas, but also through the payment of subsidies that the previous government had not paid for as many as 12 years.
The statement states that during the current mandate, subsidies have been increased, which, according to Vuković, has created a better framework for the survival and development of villages.
"In the coming period, we plan to establish the House of Agriculture and a special Secretariat for Agriculture. We want to further increase subsidies and continue building infrastructure, especially in rural areas, in order to provide all existing and future farmers with concrete working conditions," Vuković emphasized.
He added that the newly formed secretariat will enable farmers to more easily access the necessary information, administrative support, and advice for applying for national and international funds.

"We want our fellow citizens to have full support in developing their farms. The goal is to strengthen domestic production, and to work on branding local products, our cheese, potatoes and other products from the territory of Nikšić, and to help our people market these products, not only on the local, but also on the European market," said Vuković.
He also announced that the reconstruction and additional development of the city market will be a priority in the next term.
Vuković believes that this will motivate even more farmers to rent stalls and sell their products in their city, under favorable conditions.
The statement says that Nedić expressed gratitude for the visit and the support of the local authorities so far.
"I would like to thank Mr. Vuković for visiting my farm and household, and to remind the farmers of Nikšić that during their mandate, in the past four years, for the first time we have had regular subsidies for delivered milk, as well as subsidies for insurance of domestic animals, seeds and all other support that is due to us," said Nedić.
