The President of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, announced that the wave of change is spreading unstoppably and that after Budva, the President of the Parliament of Montenegro and the leader of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), Andrija Mandić, will also be in opposition in Nikšić after April 13th.
The DPS announced that Živković said this at yesterday's public debate in Župa Nikšićka.
"We sent Andrija Mandić and this parliamentary majority into opposition in Budva, and on April 13th we will do the same in Nikšić, and after that we can loudly demand early parliamentary elections. The five-year agony that began on August 30th is slowly coming to an end and Montenegro is returning to its traditional values of anti-fascism and freedom. We must also restore dignity to state politics as soon as possible. There is no area that has not been ruined by the 'liberators'," Živković emphasized.
He added that the country is heading in a disastrous direction.
"The security sector has been completely destroyed, healthcare is at a catastrophic level. The economy is increasingly facing liquidity problems due to the complete halt in investments and capital projects. Public finances have entered an unsustainable phase of constant borrowing and we are threatened with certain bankruptcy. Because of all this, we must urgently shorten the period of Montenegro's decline. The only way to do this is not only to win in Nikšić - but to win so convincingly that it is clear to everyone that this government is a thing of the past. That is why it is important that we use these few days wisely and talk to everyone, because no one should stay home on April 13," said Živković.
The leader of the "Fight for Nikšić!" list, Boris Muratović, said that Marko Kovačević will no longer be the mayor of the municipality after April 13th.
"Marko Kovačević should feel free to pack his things and prepare to move out of the cabinet because he is counting his last days at the head of the municipality of Nikšić. Nationalism, hatred and primitive behavior are over. The period when we were ashamed of who the mayor is, as in the last four years, is over. But I must repeat once again - Marko Kovačević is not the only problem. The problem is also those who are running in these elections and pretend to be civic options, when in fact they only serve to bring their votes to the former Democratic Front. That is why I am using this opportunity to say: Every vote for PES and the Democrats is a vote for Marko Kovačević," said Muratović.
