The opposition in Šavnik, in protest against the re-election of Jugoslav Jakić (DPS) as mayor and the unresolved election crisis that has been going on since October 2022, has blocked the Šavnik - Žabljak road today. The blockade will last from 12:15 to XNUMX:XNUMX as of yesterday.
"For 39 days now, in the sun and snow, we have been protesting, determined to persevere. We call on the presidents of the state, government and parliament to join us," said the organizers of the blockade.
The blockade is organized by the coalitions "For the Future of Šavnik" (NSD, SNP, DNP) and "Let's Go People" (DCG, UCG, PES). They began blocking the aforementioned main road on February 27th.
The opposition demands that representatives of the legislative and executive branches of government in the country react and resolve the Šavnik crisis that has been ongoing since the 2022 local elections, which have not yet been completed. As they said, they will continue with the blockade until the Šavnik issue is resolved.
About twenty days ago, they wrote to Jakov Milatović, Milojko Spajić, and Andrija Mandić, asking them to organize a joint meeting to try to find a way out of the crisis, but the meeting has not yet taken place.
