Tivat Municipal Assembly session not held again, five councilors did not show up

The president of the municipal council, Miljan Marković (New Serbian Democracy), said that the second postponement of the local parliament session in a row was not the result of any political crisis within the ruling coalition, but, as he said, the fact that some of their councilors had urgent official obligations.

The twenty-first regular session of the Municipal Assembly (MA) of Tivat was not held today due to lack of quorum.

This is the second time that this session of the Tivat parliament has been postponed because the ruling coalition led by the civic list Narod bejeduću (The People Wins) was missing five of its total 17 councilors.

The opposition, which consists of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Social Democrats (SD), the Liberal Party (LP) and the Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI), took advantage of this because none of their councilors showed up in the assembly hall at the scheduled time, which is why there was no quorum for the session.

Municipal Assembly President Miljan Marković (New Serbian Democracy) said that the second postponement of the local parliament session was not the result of any political crisis within the ruling coalition, but, as he said, the fact that some of their councilors had urgent official obligations.

He scheduled a new attempt to hold the 21st session for April 16th, when the previously scheduled 22nd session of the Tivat Municipal Assembly will also be held later in the afternoon.
