The response of the Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Petar Koprivica, who officially signed the Democrats' party statement, is a continuation of the party's abuse of the Ministry of the Interior and confirmation that state bodies have been actively and illegally put in the function of achieving the interests of the parliamentary majority, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) announced.
The party reacted to Koprivica's accusations, who earlier today, reacting to the news that DPS MP Andrija Nikolić had submitted to the Ministry of the Interior a list of over 200 voters whom he suspects are registered in the voter list of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, said that the goal of DPS is not a legal voter list, but "deception with the intention of scaring" the citizens of Nikšić, so that they would not exercise their right to vote.
"The Ministry of the Interior, as the body responsible for maintaining the voter register, had to ex officio verify the allegations of suspicion that 200 people are exercising their right to vote in Trebinje and Nikšić illegally, and not to use political statements to suggest that this is speculation. Also, Koprivica directly confirms with his statement that the aforementioned people are exercising their right to vote illegally and justifies himself with the statement that this illegality has been going on for a long time and states that - although he is legally competent, he will not do anything about it," the DPS pointed out.
They assessed that all of this once again confirms the state of the Montenegrin security sector as a whole and to what extent the relevant institutions are subordinate to party interests.
"Despite this, the Democratic Party of Socialists will continue to address institutions in accordance with the law and to submit the names of those who, contrary to the law, exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections in Nikšić."
"Finally, since the government assures us that relations with both Serbia and Republika Srpska have never been better, here is a wonderful opportunity for them to obtain all the necessary information through international exchange, and then initiate the process of deleting people who are illegally registered on the electoral roll of Montenegro," the DPS statement concludes.
