Radulović: As responsible citizens, we are obliged to rely on precise indicators, not empty slogans

Recently, we have witnessed numerous statements by political actors that often do not rely on facts, but on manipulating data and creating a false impression of economic progress in Nikšić, said the leader of the "Let's Wake Up Nikšić - Dragoljub - Dragan Radulović" list, Dragoljub Radulović.

"As responsible citizens, we are obliged to rely on precise statistics and real indicators, not empty slogans. According to official data from the Employment Agency of Montenegro, the employment situation in Nikšić looks somewhat different, and not a little. At the end of 2024, the number of unemployed in Nikšić was 3.182 people. Comparative data shows that at the end of 2023, the number of unemployed was 3.937, while at the end of 2022, the number was 4.946. Since the arrival of the current government, i.e. since the first quarter of 2021 (31.03.2021), the number of unemployed in Nikšić was 5.739. In the period from March 2021 to December 2024, the total number of unemployed decreased by 2.557 people, which indicates some progress in employment, but far from the claims of '5.000 new jobs'," said Radulović.

Radulović emphasizes that he and his colleagues on the list need answers from the current local government.

"We need answers to a few key questions, and we trust the esteemed citizens of Nikšić. The key questions are: is the reduction in the number of unemployed the result of the creation of new jobs or population migration and other factors, and what is the contribution of the private sector to this process, and what is the real impact of local authorities? The math is clear: the claims about '5.000 new jobs' are not true and represent a classic example of populism that insults the intelligence of citizens," he said.

He called on all political actors to deal with facts and concrete solutions for the economic development of Nikšić, instead of, as he states, "using manipulative statistics to score political points."

"Citizens deserve the truth, not the fog! The gentleman who 'sells the fog' will get an answer on Sunday. The citizens' response to their untruths and manipulations is: 'Nikšić deserves new energy and quality people'," said Radulović.
