The citizens of the Bar municipality are rightly concerned because once again, for the second time, the session of the Bar Municipal Assembly (MA) failed due to a lack of quorum, announced the Europe Now Movement (PES) councilors' club, adding that they are demanding that the ruling majority urgently declare whether their coalition still exists or whether the government in the Bar municipality has effectively fallen.
"The topics on the agenda were of exceptional importance for the everyday lives of citizens - from issues of municipal infrastructure development, support for the development of women's entrepreneurship, to issues of primary health care.
"Despite this, the councilors of the ruling majority have once again shown a complete lack of responsibility and disrespect for the citizens who elected them. The repeated lack of a quorum required to hold the session and ignoring obligations clearly indicate that their personal and party interests, or the division of the spoils, are placed ahead of the common good," the Bar PES statement reads.
They said that citizens have the right to know who runs this municipality and whether there is any political will for the local government to function in accordance with the law and the interests of the citizens of Bar.
"We call on citizens to carefully monitor the behavior of their representatives and to join our demand for more responsible, transparent and functional work of local government, because there has been enough of evasion of responsibility," the Bar PES statement concluded.
