Nikola Zirojević, a candidate on the list "European Alliance - The Best You Can - Ivan Radojičić" (SDP, SD, LP and citizens), said at a press conference that 40.000 euros were seized yesterday at the Ranče border crossing, which was supposed to be illegally brought into Montenegro.
Zirojević claims that, as far as they know, the money was intended for the needs of Marko Kovačević's election campaign.
"It is quite clear and evident that dirty money is entering Montenegro in this way, obviously for illegal activities, most likely vote buying. The money was distributed in such a way that each person in the vehicle had a certain amount of money in order to conceal what was really happening. An interesting fact is that all this is happening only a day or two after the leaders of the coalition 'For the Future of Montenegro', together with their candidate in Nikšić, the current mayor of the municipality, Marko Kovačević, informed us with great concern that a hunt for Serbs had begun in Nikšić, as they said. Let us send a very clear message from here that there is no hunt for Serbs, or anyone else in Montenegro, and even less so in Nikšić, that Serbs, like all other people living in Montenegro, are our fellow citizens, neighbors, friends, godfathers and relatives, and that there are no elections, local, parliamentary or presidential, for which we would have these good relations." and disrupt good relations," said Zirojević.
As he emphasized, it seems that the problem of the "For the Future of Nikšić" coalition is the second one - the hunt for illegal money entering Montenegro from Belgrade, which they would use to finance the "dirty and illegal part of their campaign."
"And then we are not at all surprised by the nervousness of the leader of the 'For the Future of Montenegro' coalition and their list holder in Nikšić, Marko Kovačević. We received information, so it has not been verified, we are not investigative bodies to be able to verify it, but I hereby call on the investigative bodies, members of the Police Administration and the director to verify that a person, in the neighborhood of our list holder Ivan Radojičić, is buying votes for the 'For the Future of Nikšić' coalition, that sums of money of as much as 1.000 euros are being offered and that certain engagements in CEDIS are being offered. We call on the competent state authorities to take this indication that we have come across very seriously, according to what happened at the Ranče border crossing, but also to investigate whether these actions are being carried out in other locations and by other persons on the territory of Nikšić," Zirojević called.
He called on citizens of Nikšić who are aware of such acts to contact them and report them, so that they can prosecute and insist on shedding light on "these crimes."
"It is clear that the local government in Nikšić is in a panic, because, it is now quite evident, they are losing the elections on April 13th, and we have no doubt that they will do absolutely everything to try to turn this situation around in their favor. We can tell them that everything they are doing is in vain, that all their illegal activities are in vain, that all the dirty money that is coming in from neighboring Serbia and neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. the entity Republika Srpska, is also in vain, because the real and majority Nikšić is not for sale. So, on April 13th, Nikšić is turning over a new leaf, preparing for a new local government whose main constituents will certainly be the European Union," Zirojević is convinced, adding that they are preparing for a major electoral victory in that alliance on April 13th.
