Montenegro, thanks to good relations with its neighbors, plays an important role in preserving stability and encouraging cooperation in the Western Balkans, it was stated during the meeting of the Presidents of Montenegro and Turkey, Jakov Mialtović and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
"The fifth meeting of the two leaders is a confirmation of the excellent bilateral relations between Montenegro and the Republic of Turkey, and an indicator of the mutual trust between President Milatović and President Erdogan," the office of the President of Montenegro announced.

They said that Erdogan accepted President Milatović's invitation to visit Montenegro and that on that occasion they will jointly open the reconstructed building of the former Turkish embassy in Cetinje, a project funded by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA).
The two presidents reportedly discussed common interests and strategic issues important for the stability of our region.
"President Milatović thanked President Erdogan for the support and constructive role that the Republic of Turkey plays in strengthening political dialogue and regional cooperation," the statement reads.
