The session of the Bar Municipal Assembly (MA), which was planned for tomorrow, has been postponed, thus postponing work and decision-making for the third time due to a lack of quorum.
In addition to the session on March 10th, which was postponed because councilors from the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) did not attend, the one scheduled for April 9th was also postponed because one councilor from that party was missing for a quorum.
DPS, the largest ruling party in Bar, and their coalition partners, the Social Democrats, previously told "Vijesti" that there was no government crisis, that "all positions were agreed upon," and claimed that work would continue on April 16th and that the current majority would decide.
As "Vijesti" was unofficially told by a councilor of the Bar Municipal Assembly, the session was postponed because one councilor from the ruling coalition was missing for a quorum.
Of the 37 seats in the Bar parliament, the majority of 19 councilors are held by the DPS, SD, Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Liberal Party (LP).
The head of the Bar parliament, Branislav Nenezić, told "Vijesti" that he postponed the session because one of the councilors of the current majority has been in hospital since yesterday.
Upon learning this, he postponed the session, but out of respect for her privacy, he did not state this as a reason in the notice he sent to the councilors about the postponement of the session.
"This is not a political crisis, but a legitimate reason that should not be manipulated, and we just hope that our colleague will recover as soon as possible and that everything will be fine," said Nenezić.
The session will certainly continue until the end of the month, he said, and another one will be held shortly after that, at which reports on the work of the President of the Municipality of Bar and local companies founded by the municipality will be discussed and decided.
