The coalition "For the Future of Budva" announced that the legal violence, which the new mayor of Budva Municipality Nikola Jovanović boasts among his officials and followers, is increasing day by day.
"For months, the public has been following Jovanović's violation of the law, ever since he illegally became the vice-president of the Municipality, and then when the Decision on the temporary financing of Budva was adopted, and everything culminated in legal scandals surrounding the election of the president of the Budva Municipal Assembly and Jovanović's own election. When the new coalition 'Budva our city' - OKG DPS and SDP took power, the naive expected that the functioning would return to the legal framework of the state of Montenegro. But it seems that the Jovanović - Odžić duo did not think so, but from the first subsequent assembly they started with even more gross violations of the law," the coalition announced.
Unfortunately, as they claim, the competent Ministry of Public Administration, headed by Minister Maraš Dukaj, and the Administrative Court have been silent for months on the daily collapse of not only electoral laws but also the Statute of the Municipality of Budva, and so on, always when it suits Jovanović, DPS, and SDP.
"However, we have underlined and pointed out to the public several times that the election of the OIK is a kind of "crown" of the vandalism of the new Budva Assembly majority when they seized from our victorious coalition not only the positions of the president, but also his deputy and the secretary of this most important electoral body. Nikola Jovanović and Petar Odžić, supported by the old - new Secretary of the Assembly Berislav Fabris, ignored the written order of the State Election Commission and elected their representatives, leaving our strongest political group without a representative in the OIK," the coalition points out.
One of the main reasons for this behavior, they add, in addition to preparing the "ground" for future electoral abuses, is the intention to kidnap some of the councilors of the "For the Future of Budva" coalition, which is already happening in practice and such attempts are daily.
"Such legal abuses not only threaten the electoral will of the citizens of Budva by the new and unnatural local government, but also send a message that everything is allowed and everything is possible if you have an parliamentary majority. The fact that the Constitution is being violated, that we are daily witnesses to the illegality and the most primitive arbitrariness carried out by Jovanović and Odžić, unfortunately has not yet interested either the competent ministry or the prosecutor's office. It remains to be seen in the coming period whether the relevant institutions will choose to flatter the new Budva ruling coalition or fully respect the laws of the country in which they live," the coalition "For the Future of Budva" concludes in a statement.
