The citizens of Bar are witnessing serious negligence in the work of local institutions in Bar, the Initial Committee of the Europe Now Movement (PES) Bar announced today.
"Namely, DOO Vodovod i kanalizacija Bar connected the fecal sewage line directly to the atmospheric sewage system, which leads to the spillage of fecal water in the area of the Port of Bar. This way of solving the problem is the best indicator of the irresponsibility of the local government and the complete lack of systemic care for the health and dignity of the citizens of Bar. This behavior is not just a technical problem - it is a mirror of the policy implemented by the current government: neglected institutions, dysfunctional communal infrastructure, violation of the law and complete insensitivity to the everyday problems of citizens," the statement emphasizes.
The Bar PES added that the citizens of Bar must not be collateral damage to party cadres, incompetence, and inaction.
"It is time to end the practice in which no one bears responsibility for the consequences that we all feel - through a polluted environment, impaired health and an overall decline in the quality of life. Therefore, we call on the competent institutions to respond urgently and to provide a permanent solution to this problem, in the sense that fecal sewage is treated according to applicable standards and regulations before being discharged into the sea. If the local government is unable to solve the basic problems of citizens, let it openly announce it and return the mandate to the citizens," the statement of the Initial Board of PES Bar reads.
