The Šavnik opposition announced today that they will not block the Šavnik-Žabljak road for Easter due to the re-election of Jugoslav Jakić (DPS) as mayor.

"This is the 51st day of our blockade, and none of the officials have yet made a decision on the Šavnik issue. We will not be blocking for Easter, and after the holiday we will continue with it from 12:15 to XNUMX:XNUMX," the Šavnik opposition said.

The blockade is organized by the coalitions "For the Future of Šavnik" (NSD, SNP, DNP) and "Let's Go People" (DCG, UCG, PES).

They began blocking the aforementioned main road on February 27th.

The opposition demands that representatives of the legislative and executive branches of government in the country react and resolve the Šavnik crisis, which has been ongoing since the 2022 local elections, which have not yet been completed.

As they said, they will continue with the blockade until the Šavnik issue is resolved.

They wrote to Jakov Milatović, Milojko Spajić and Andrija Mandić more than a month ago, asking them to organize a joint meeting to try to find a way out of the crisis, but the meeting has not yet taken place.
