Executive Director of the Network for the Affirmation of the Non-Governmental Sector (MANS), Vanja Ćalović Marković, told the MPs of the ruling parties that Velika plaza, Buljarica and Jaz are not trophies of the government, but pearls of Montenegro.
"We did not save Velika Plaža, Buljarica and Jaz for politicians. We did not save them for functions, chairs and investment plans. We saved them for citizens, for nature, for generations to come. And we went through a golgotha because we did not remain silent. We defended them together. You were with us then - shoulder to shoulder. You called for protests against the former regime when they wanted to hand over the coast to their friends. And now you want to give away what we have saved together. To continue where they left off. And now you are the ones who want to silence us," she wrote in an open letter to government representatives.
"But know this: this is not a question of the government. Nor of the opposition. This is a question of conscience, face and honor. Velika plaza, Buljarica and Jaz are not trophies of the government. They are the pearls of Montenegro. And we will not give them away - not to them, not to you, not to anyone," said the executive director of MANS.
MANS: We are not second-class citizens.
The NGO said that "we are not second-class citizens selling chicken and shampoo to sheikhs."
"They took from us for thirty years, and now the 'liberators' want to sell what's left. They won't be able to! We are not second-class citizens who sell chicken and shampoo to sheikhs. We are a proud people who fought against much stronger invaders and did not give in. We will not now," they announced on Iks.
