Crmnica, one of the most beautiful areas of our municipality and Montenegro, is welcoming this tourist season with the same chronic problems that have remained unresolved for years despite the promises of the authorities, said Ljubo Vukoslavčević, political director of the party I Vote Montenegro - I Vote Bar.
"The parking lot in Virpazar, which was announced as a priority last year, has not been completed this season either. This continues the practice of irresponsible behavior towards this pearl of Montenegrin tourism and the population that lives off it.
"The roads leading through Crmnica villages are in poor condition, which further complicates the lives of local residents, as well as access for tourists who are increasingly choosing Crmnica as their destination," reads a statement released by Vukoslavčević to the media.
Of particular concern is the attitude of the local authorities towards Crmnica winegrowers, beekeepers, livestock breeders and all those who, with their effort and work, preserve tradition and improve the local economy, he adds.
"There is no support or strategy from the Secretariat for Economy, or rather its part for agriculture - apart from the name - which leads us to the question: Why does this body even exist?
There are still problems - from infrastructure to administrative - but what is encouraging is the fact that despite everything, Virpazar and the villages of Crmnica are an increasingly desirable destination, especially among foreign tourists. This speaks volumes about the potential of this region, but also about how much the local government ignores it.
"The I Vote for Montenegro - I Vote for Bar party calls on the authorities to finally recognize the importance of Crmnica and to offer concrete solutions instead of empty promises. The citizens of Crmnica deserve it," Vukoslavčević concluded.
