With his actions, Andrija Mandić has long shown that he does not deserve even a minute to hold such an important and responsible position as the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, the Civic Movement (GP) URA announced today.
"There are numerous reasons for this, first and foremost being the degradation of the parliament and the loss of meaning to its function as an institution that should be a place of dialogue and a key pillar of democratic life in Montenegro. Unfortunately, the parliament under his leadership has turned into the exact opposite of what it should be, which culminated last night in the Parliament when we saw that Mandić, in the manner of Ivan Brajović (former Speaker of the Parliament), returned Milan Knežević's amendment to the vote again so that the ruling MPs could change the previously made decision," the GP URA statement states.
The party added that their position is correct, that Mandić does not deserve the position he holds, and all the controversies and uncertainties that have been occurring in recent days in the case of an attempted murder in the city center, which, according to available police information, was committed by Mandić's nephew and a member of his security team using an official vehicle, confirm this.
"This case is accompanied by numerous open questions and omissions by several institutions from different branches of government, so we will closely monitor the case and will soon disclose all our knowledge that is hidden from the public at the plenum and committee sessions. The time of the 'invisible hand' is over and criminal acts must never be covered up again," the GP URA statement reads.
