Spain will continue to be a pillar of support for Montenegro in the European integration process, said the President of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, Francina Luc Armengol Socias, in a conversation with the President of the Montenegrin Parliament, Andrija Mandić.
As announced by the Parliament, Mandić is on an official visit to Spain, which is the first official visit by a high-ranking Montenegrin statesman to that country in the past 20 years.
Armengol Sosias emphasized that she was honored to host Mandić and that in this way relations between the two countries were being re-established at the highest level.
"The path you are taking is very good, so I must emphasize the strong support of Spain. We want to work with you because it is very important for Montenegro to join the European Union (EU)," said Armengol Sosias.
As she emphasized, Spain is here to do its best to help Montenegro meet its goal and become a member of the EU by 2028.

She added that all of Europe sees the great progress that Montenegro has made in the past few years.
"Spain will continue to be a pillar of support for Montenegro when it comes to the EU accession process," said Armengol Sosias.
Mandić emphasized that Montenegro and Spain cherish very stable and friendly relations, and that numerous new perspectives for their development have been opened in the previous period thanks to the strengthening of political dialogue at the highest level.
"Montenegro views Spain as a true friend and we are deeply grateful for the continued support your country provides us on our European path," Mandić said.
According to him, Montenegro and Spain have numerous areas of common interest.
He said that the key area is the economy, particularly emphasizing the importance of cooperation in the field of tourism.
"Montenegro, like Spain, is a Mediterranean country that God has blessed with a variety of natural beauties and as such it represents the jewel of the Balkans and our goal is for it to become the tourist center of our region," concluded Mandić.
