The President of the Democratic Club of Councilors in the Capital City Assembly, Mitar Paunović, welcomed the decision of the Capital City to valorize the space of the former children's resort in Sutomore.
"Yesterday, the demolition of the neglected buildings of the former children's resort 'Kekec' owned by the Capital City began in Sutomore, which unfortunately in recent years have tarnished the image of this tourist resort and represented an ideal place for gatherings of drug and alcohol users.
"As a long-time children's instructor - animator at the Children's Resort in Veruša, and today a councilor in the Capital City Assembly, I welcome the activities of the city administration, especially the deputy mayor, towards the valorization of this location in Sutomore, through the immediate construction of a much-needed parking lot, which would certainly lead to the permanent use of this location as a new children's resort, instead of the planned gray skyscrapers, which the former government clearly engaged in through spatial documentation," Paunović said in a statement submitted to the media.
He said that we must turn the resorts in Veruša and Sutomore into centers of carefreeness and socialization for children from Podgorica and Montenegro, whose parents are unable to afford them summer and winter vacations in expensive resorts, even in our country.
"Because, as the decades-long anthem of the Podgorica Children's Association says: 'A smile warms the face, our heart is a bird that does not love a cage, we are the Children's Association!'" concluded Paunović.
