Montenegro's joining the Three Seas Initiative is a step closer to the country's membership in the European Union (EU), the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, announced today.
His statement was submitted by the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro.
"I express my sincere gratitude to each participating state for the warm welcome our country has received into the Three Seas family. This gesture is not only a recognition of our shared values and aspirations, but also a testament to the strength of regional unity and cooperation," Milatović emphasized.
He added that Montenegro is proud to join a community that promotes connectivity, innovation and resilience - principles that are key to the future of the Western Balkans region.
"We strongly believe that through cooperation we can strengthen the strategic importance of our region, improve the quality of life of our citizens, and ensure lasting peace and prosperity in the Western Balkans. In other words, by joining this Initiative, we are taking a step closer to our strategic goal - EU membership," said Milatović.
The President of Montenegro announced yesterday that Montenegro will be accepted as an associate member of the Three Seas Initiative today.
