Aleksandar Franeta, a member of the Board of Directors and president of that body in the previous convocation, submitted his irrevocable resignation yesterday at the constitutive session of the Board of Directors of the municipal company Akademija znanja in Budva, warning that the Board of Directors is illegal and that every decision made is illegitimate.
"I am submitting my irrevocable resignation from the position of a member of the Board of Directors. The reason for my resignation is a disagreement with members from the ranks of the DPS (Democratic Party of Socialists) and the SDP (Social Democratic Party). I also want to state that there is no legal framework for the continuation of the work of the Board of Directors. The Board cannot continue its work in full continuity due to the even number of members and I am of the opinion that it is necessary to verify the new board in the parliamentary procedure," Franeta emphasized in a resignation submitted to "Vijesti".
He added that the new Board does not have the legal capacity to represent the Company or make legally binding decisions.
"Also, a new chairman of the Board of Directors could not have been elected when one member resigned before the election of the chairman. I think the election of the chairman of the Board of Directors is illegal and legally and substantially invalid," Franeta stated.
