Murino warns us of the price of war and reminds us of the sacredness of peace, said Aleksa Bečić, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for Security, Defense, Fight against Crime and Internal Policy, today.
"Today, with sadness and respect, we remember Murin - a small, peaceful town where, 26 years ago, a peaceful day was interrupted by the sound of airplanes during NATO bombing. That day, the lives of six innocent people were taken, including three children," Bečić said in a statement.
He added that for the first time, "Montenegro has recognized the responsibility to at least partially correct decades of injustice, by a government decision allocating 100.000 euros to the families of the victims.
"Montenegro has not and will never forget you". Let this tragedy be our lasting vow that dialogue, reason and mutual respect remain the only paths we follow. May eternal glory be to Julija, Olivera, Miroslav, Vukić, Milka and Manojl. May it never be forgotten. May it never be repeated again, to anyone and anywhere", said Bečić.
