Dukaj: I thank Milatović for supporting the concept of the law on local elections

Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj thanked the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović for his support for the concept of the law on local elections.

"I have always repeated that no one can do this job alone, not even the Ministry of Public Administration (MPA). In addition to us from the MPA, the State Election Commission (SEC), the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro, the civil sector and the academic community have the same view on the concept. In this sense, the support of the president of the state and his assessment that this is the way forward are encouraging," Maraš wrote on the social network Iks.

On April 28, Dukaj presented the Concept of the Law on Local Elections, which, among other things, envisages holding elections in one day and the direct election of municipal presidents.

Milatović said yesterday that the solutions envisaged in the Concept of the Law on Local Elections are a step in the right direction.
