During the election campaign in Nikšić, the parliamentary opposition ran a dirty campaign against PES, announcing the overthrow of the government, and today they are calling on us to cooperate, the Europe Now Movement (PES) Nikšić announced today.
"So, everything they said during the election campaign, they would like to annul today and continue to distort the facts, presenting themselves as the guarantor of the survival of the civil state, while indicating that it is allegedly threatened by the cooperation of PES with certain constituents of the state government. All this is happening while in Budva they are zealously forming a coalition with the former part of the DF and celebrating the formation of the government with the songs of Baja Mali Knindža," the statement states.
The Nikšić-based PES added that it is quite clear "that the opposition has become fascinated by political functions, whether advisory or in-depth, and they are now ready to swallow everything they said publicly in the election campaign at the expense of PES, in order to get their hands on the seats."
"Therefore, it is not surprising that the entire parliamentary opposition (DPS, European Alliance and URA) won only one quarter, or 120 mandates, of the possible 30 council seats in the recently held local elections in three municipalities (Berane, Nikšić, Herceg Novi). Therefore, instead of dealing with PES, we are convinced that it would be more fruitful for them to work on essential reforms in the coming period, instead of cosmetic ones, which in the future may put them in a position to, in a few years, if the citizens so decide, be part of the ruling majority. Until then, they can only be consoled by the fact that the ruling party in Budva, which celebrates election victories with the unofficial anthem of the Kavački clan, is in coalition with Milo Božović's political group," the PES Nikšić statement reads.
