On May 16, the Parliamentary Committee for Security and Defense will consider information on the activities undertaken by the police in connection with the two tragedies in Cetinje.
The president of that working body, Miodrag Laković, requested information from the security services about the actions taken in the cases of tragedies that occurred in Cetinje in January of this year and August 2022, in which more than 20 people died.
"After agreeing on the dates with the leaders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Administration, a session of the Parliamentary Committee for Security and Defense has been scheduled for May 16," Laković wrote on the X network.
He said that he would propose for the agenda information on the activities undertaken by the Police Directorate regarding the tragic event that occurred in Cetinje on January 1, as well as activities regarding the tragedy in the Medovina settlement on August 12, 2022.
Members of the Committee should also consider the Information on the procedure for conducting checks to determine the (non)existence of security obstacles in the performance of security tasks, as well as determining disciplinary liability and initiating proceedings in this regard.
Laković said that he would propose Information on the recruitment procedure for police and MUP members for the agenda of the Committee session.
