The leader of the Civic Movement URA, Dritan Abazović, expressed his expectation that after the arrest of Duško Golubović, the prosecution will make progress in uncovering those behind the murder of the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Dan" Duško Jovanović.

He said that Golubović is connected to the new authorities, according to a statement from Abazović's party.

"Let it be to everyone's credit, both the uncles, aunts, and businessmen who finance PES and other political options. I will not forget that they recruited, and perhaps they still do so in the security services. But the evidence is safe. The only thing that makes me satisfied is that within the system there are people who got involved during the 43rd Government and who are bravely working to promote the Constitution and laws of Montenegro," Abazović said.

He expressed regret that Montenegro does not have an "anti-mafia" law.

"It will be clear to you what was supposed to be covered in the coming weeks and months - specifically when it comes to Mr. Golubović, but also more broadly. I expect that scheme number 2, which has already been started, related to cigarette smuggling, will be activated, and that we will get to what affects the citizens of Montenegro the most - not so much in a financial sense as in a moral sense - and that is the resolution of some murders from the previous period, specifically the murder of Duško Jovanović," Abazović said in his author's podcast "Friday with Dritan", according to a statement released by GP URA to the media.

He announced that the full disclosure of this would open "Pandora's box." Abazović pointed out that everything he did in the 42nd and 43rd governments is now showing results and expressed satisfaction with that, recalling that as Prime Minister he had provided the prosecution with evidence of organized cigarette smuggling.

The leader of the URA Police Station assessed that the action to arrest Golubović was extremely important for the healing of society, because he and Lazović, according to him, were the most dangerous people walking around Montenegro - adding that they were not the only ones.

"I expect the hand of justice to continue to act. I don't feel like I'm in the opposition - these are the reasons why we fought for change and why we wanted it. I think it will be felt both in Montenegro's economic progress, but also in broader freedoms in terms of justice," Abazović said.

Commenting on the position of European Union Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos on Montenegro's agreement with the UAE, Abazović reminded that there are different interpretations and paraphrased the Vice President of the URA, Filip Adžić, who assessed that "the agreement is good if it is never implemented."

"The agreement is the embodiment of this government - they trivialize everything. I think they deliberately concluded it before closing some chapters, because after such antics, that will not be possible," Abazović pointed out, recalling that the Commissioner said that the agreement cannot be implemented without public tenders.

He reiterated his call to the ruling majority MPs, who had previously supported him, not to do so again.

The leader of the GP URA also referred to what he called the collapse of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund. Abazović presented data according to which, he claims, the Fund's debt in 2020 amounted to 102 million euros, while during the mandate of his government it decreased to 43 million.

"Thanks to Finance Minister Saša Damjanović, that debt was halved, and a system was launched in which that debt disappeared. At the same time, during the mandate of the 43rd Government, we had a 17 percent increase in pensions, and the minimum pension doubled - it increased from 150 to 300 euros. At the same time, the Fund reduced losses. That was a smart policy - that pensions increase, and the debt decreases. And what is happening now? Last year, the PIO Fund's debt amounted to 156 million euros. Since the debt has already reached 119 million this year, estimates are that it will reach 2025 million euros in 400 - which is almost the value of one section of the highway that Montenegro plans to build," Abazović said.

He added that one does not need to be an economic expert to understand that reducing contributions to the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, which is a decision of the current government, will lead to a large deficit.

"It is really wrong to implement such stunts. If this model worked, Germany, France or some other rich country would have already implemented it. Increasing wages by reducing taxes may be the most critical point in the long run. The Pension and Disability Insurance Fund records a loss of 40 million euros every month," Abazović concluded.
