The President of the European Council, Antonio Košta, will pay his first official visit to Montenegro on Wednesday, May 14, at the invitation of President Jakov Milatović, the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro announced today.
The statement added that Milatović will welcome Košta at Villa Gorica, with the highest military and state honors, followed by a conversation between the two officials and a meeting of the two delegations, during which issues of importance for accelerating Montenegro's European path will be discussed.
"After the meeting, President Milatović and President Košta will address the media at a joint press conference. They will also plant a friendship tree in the courtyard of Villa Gorica," the statement reads.
The Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro said that Košta's visit "represents an expression of strong support for Montenegro's European agenda and the goal of our country becoming a full member of the EU by 2028."
"This visit is also a confirmation of the European Union's commitment to the Western Balkans region and enlargement policy," the statement said.
