The Democratic People's Party (DNP) announced today that it is distancing itself from today's vote in the Danilovgrad Municipal Assembly (MA) of councilors Goran Kalezić and Aleksandra Pavićević, who, together with councilors from the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), voted to dismiss the director of the Day Care Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities and Adults with Disabilities.
"In its ten-year history, no DNP MP or councilor has voted together with DPS to dismiss colleagues from NSD (New Serbian Democracy). Unfortunately, this happened for the first time today by Goran Kalezić and Aleksandra Pavićević, which represents an unacceptable act of violating the party's program and statutory principles. Given the new situation, DNP President Milan Knežević will propose the expulsion of Kalezić and Pavićević from the party at the first session of the Presidency," the DNP statement reads.
"Vijesti" learned that 22 out of a total of 33 councilors attended the session, and that 20 of them voted for the dismissal.
Representatives of the DNP, the Europe Now Movement (PES), the Civic Movement URA, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), the Social Democrats (SD), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Movement for Change (PzP), Preokret, Democratic Montenegro and Prava Montenegro voted in favor of replacing the director, while two local councilors of the NSD voted against.
